haute + gold: dramatic lighting

Hello! Welcome to a new series called Haute + Gold. It’s all about interiors, living, and all things home. I love daydreaming about posh interior design and imagining just how I can pull off something so fab. I’m also about to become a home owner in less than a month (yay!), so decorating has been on my mind a lot lately! I want to share with you ideas I have, projects I undertake and inspire gorgeous design and beautiful homes along the way.

Before choosing the condo we so luckily found, we went to many open houses. In addition to tallying up all the pros and cons of each home, I gave equal attention to the decor to get new ideas. We went to one open house on an overcast Sunday and this dramatic, rectangle chandelier was the centerpiece of the room. It was absolutely fabulous.

I’ve been obsessed with this piece for weeks, until the very moment I saw it again this past Sunday. A total kismet moment. I was meeting friends for brunch and was early, which doesn’t happen often. I wandered into West Elm and nearly died of joy when I saw this hanging pendant. I can’t be certain if it’s the exact same piece, but it felt exactly right. In addition to stumbling upon my object of affection, there was also a lighting sale that was ending the next day. I immediately bought it and I can’t wait to hang it in our new dining room. This is my very first piece for the new condo, so it’s definitely special! Photos to come in a couple months when it’s up.

Have a fabulous day! ♥c
